Toe in the Water, Feeling Wet

Got a call to artists from our local outsider arts co-op, the Dinnerware, to submit work in response to the outgoing President, the incoming President, or the politics of the last eight years. Since I had a ready-made submission in Retablo (and no work was to be refused), I figured it couldn't hurt. This will be my first art in a show since my college years, decades ago. Here're the details:

Congrats! You are too much, that you add in that since no work was to be refused, you figured it couldn't hurt! (but it is funny, how each rejection can be like a brand new one, like it's never happened before)

Enjoy that your beautiful piece is Out There.

Karen— Thanks. But, I don't have much practice at acceptance or rejection. I can remember submitting work only one other time (recently).

Marian— Thank you!

Hi Edgar,

Good for you. Your reticence is heartwarming. When you put your toe in the water, it does feel wet. Every time.

I hope you had a super opening.

Take care,

Barbara

TSL— It's not so much, thanks.

Barbara— The soup was great!

I read your article and being 58 and an artist all my life and much of the time having stacks of paintings in my closet, I have come to the conclusion that it is better to have your work seen. The selling will come with time. Now rejection... that is a different subject.. not good at that one yet...
